Drawing Animal 1: Chameleon

Morning, my friend. ☺️

Welcome to the brand new drawing practice series, Drawing Level 3, of this Blog. In this Drawing Level 3, we are going to draw animals from reference photos. Here is our first animal:

Drawing Animal 1 - Intro

If you are a beginner artist and are new to this Blog, you are recommended to go through previous drawing exercises via Blog Navigation. I have designed beginner-friendly drawing tutorials categorized into several levels.

Now let’s have a look at the reference photo of our beautiful chameleon.

As an absolute beginner artist, it’s really hard to draw from our imagination (even though we always want this ☺️). Therefore,  all drawing practices of this Blog include reference photos for newbies to train their eyes and hands to learn how to draw common objects first.

Are you ready to draw our chameleon? It may look difficult at first. But don’t worry, we will simplify it 😚.

Let’s dive into the step-by-step tutorial with me.

Step 5: Coloring

Since this is the Drawing Level 3, you are encouraged to color your way 😍. This is important to develop your own art style. Here is just my example.

Drawing Animal 1 - All Steps

In every practice of previous drawing levels, I have shown in detail how I color each drawing. You can learn how to color through those practices, or you can watch my drawing timelapse videos on my YouTube channel.

Moreover, if you are interested in learning how to color by playing with coloring sheets, consider my printable coloring sheets available at my Ko-fi shop.
